Organization

 

The festival will take place in Saint Savin, a little french Village, close to Poitiers, in the Center West of France.

 

 


Dates: From August 17th to 28th, 2017

 

The teachers will be

Philippe CASSARD, concert pianist and producer at France Musique Radio

Stanislav POCHEKIN, teacher at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona and        

Dmitri Alexeev teacher at Royal Conservatory of Music, London

 

Each student will receive 6 individual lessons, 2 lessons given by each teacher.

Each lesson will be 45' long.

Philippe CASSARD

 

Philippe Cassard has established an international reputation as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician since giving a joint recital with Christa Ludwig in Paris in 1985. The same year he was finalist at the Clara Haskil Competition and in 1988 he won the First Prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition.

His concerto appearances include performances with the London Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic and BBC Wales, Orchestre National de France... He has worked with many conductors including Sir Neville Marriner, Jeffrey Tate, Vladimir Fedossejev, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Raymond Leppard, Charles Dutoit, Armin Jordan, Marek Janowski, Emmanuel Krivine, Thierry Fischer…

 

His performance of the complete piano works of Debussy (four recitals in a single day) received extremely enthusiastic press and media coverage. He has presented the cycle in London Wigmore Hall, Dublin, Paris, Lisbon, Sydney, Singapore and Tokyo. His Debussy's recordings published by Decca have been awarded Grand Prix du Disque Français in 1994.
He also visits China, Australia, South America and Canada regulary.

Philippe plays also a huge repertoire of chamber music, and he appearead with such artists as Natalie Dessay, Angelika Kirchschlager, Wolfgang Holzmair, Cédric Pescia, Paul Meyer, David Grimal, Anne Gastinel, Matt Haimovitz, Isabelle Faust, the Ebene, Modigliani, Takacs, Auryn, Vanbrugh, Danish and Chilingirian string quartets.

His recording of Schumann’s Humoresque and Fantasiestücke op.12 was awarded Gramophone Editor’s Choice and FM Magazine « Best Buy » (2005). Philippe Cassard's releases (Schubert 8 Impromptus, Brahms op.116 to 119) have been received very warmly.
Philippe joins soprano Natalie Dessay in 2012 for a Debussy Songs programme (Erato) and a Poulenc, Fauré, Duparc and Chausson recital in 2015. His recent release of a Schubert programme (Sonata D959 and four hands piano music with Swiss pianist Cédric Pescia) for La Dolce Volta, has been awarded "Choc 2014" by Classica magazine.

Philippe Cassard has been artistic director of the festival « Nuits Romantiques du Lac du Bourget » (1999-2008), and since 2005, he has presented 430 live weekly programmes on France Musique Radio dedicated to piano interpretation (awarded Prix SCAM in 2007 as "Best radio programme"). He has written an essay on Schubert and a book on cinema and music links.

 

 

 

 

 

Dmitri ALEXEEV

 

 

Russian pianist Dmitri Alexeev is one of the world’s most highly regarded artists. His critically praised recitals on the world’s leading concert stages and his concert appearances with the most prestigious orchestras have secured his position as one of “the most remarkable pianists of the day” (Daily Telegraph).

He has performed with such orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, the five London orchestras, Orchestre de Paris, Israel Philharmonic and the Munich Bavarian Radio Orchestra. He has worked with conductors such as Ashkenazy, Boulez, Bychkov, Dorati, Gergiev, Giulini, Jansons, Muti, Pappano, Rozhdestvensky, Salonen, Temirkanov, Tilson Thomas and the late Klaus Tennstedt to name just a few.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stanislav POCHEKIN

 

 

Stanislav Pochekin was born in Russia and received his music education at the Gnesin Institute in Moscow under the tutelage of the illustrious Edouard Mirzoian and Theodore Gutman. Upon the completion of his studies he served as a professor at the Conservatoire in Sverdlovsk (Russia). In 1989 he was invited to Cuba where he became a professor at the “Instituto Superior del Arte” in Havana.


Mr. Pochekin’s repertoire ranges from Baroque to the Contemporary. He performed with many major orchestras and worked with distinguished conductors such as M. Paverman, F. Glushenko, I. Lapinsh. R. S. Ferrers well as many others.


Mr. Pochekin has been living in Spain since 1993, when he was appointed at the “Concervatorio del Liceo” de Barcelona. Pochekin’s students have received more than 50 prizes in the national and international competitions. Stanislav Pochekin gives master classes in Europe and America, and he has been invited to serve as a Jury member at many prestigious national and international competitions in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Russia. Currently Mr. Pochekin is the Artistic Director of the International Piano Competition in Andorra, Spain.

The lessons will take place in the music school and in few others rooms located in the town.

 

 

 

Conditions

 

The stay for students will include:

  • 6 lessons 45' long per student (2 lessons done by each teacher)
  • Possibility to study at least 4 hours a day on up right pianos
  • 11 days all included (three meals per day, including water each time).

The rooms are with  single beds, and the rooms will be shared with another students.

  • Possibility to play a full recital during the week for each student

 

Total price per student: 750 €

 

The transport from your city to Poitiers is not included on the price.

Transport from Poitiers to Saint Savin and back will be organized on 19th and 29th.

 

Inscription Fees : 300€ per person (deduced from the full price) not refundable.

 

Possibility to get a half scholarship (based on taxes return).
